We are excited to announce the release of the new version of the 61850 Avenue toolset in January 2025. This new version introduces significant enhancements and features to improve the toolset functionality and usability.

IEC 61850 client tool version 2.1.16:

• Managing URCB Reservation with Command Button: A new feature that allows easier management of URCB reservations with a dedicated command button.
• Improved Connection Handling: Added ability to close the connection after the client sends the close_notify message.
• Enhancements in Process Data View (PDV): Improvements to the PDV function for better usability.
• General Updates: Added minor improvements and fixed identified bugs.

61850 ICD Editor:

• Improved LN Models: Fixed IEC 61850 LN models in line with the latest technical updates.
• ICD Import from SCD: Added  capability to import IED descriptions directly from SCD files.
• Enhanced SCL Validation: The SCL validation log is more accessible, positioned beneath the editor window for convenience.

Relay Simulator:

• ACSE Authentication without TLS: It is now possible to apply the ACSE authentication also without the use of TLS.
• OpenSSL Integration: Replaced mbedTLS with OpenSSL library for enhanced secure communication.
• Ed.2 dchg Flag Fixes: Resolved issue where SP and CF attributes improperly triggered the dchg flag in older editions.
• q and t Attribute Updates: Fixed issue to ensure that attributes unrelated to q and t no longer inadvertently update these fields.
